Key West Florida – Inside Hemingway’s house

The interesting thing about Ernest Hemingway may have been his second wife, Pauline. She was born in St. Louis and she loved to decorate their Key West home. In their bedroom, she  bought a headboard from her home town and had it shipped to Key West Florida. The headboard is actually a gate from an old Spanish Monastery. You’ll see that in the video I’m going to show you.



The veranda outside of his bedroom was really something! Can you imagine waking up, walking outside on the veranda into that lush greenery all around in the early morning? No wonder he was so inspired to write in Key West Florida. It is a wonderful place to be. Continue reading

Affordable Hotels In The Florida Keys

Have you been  planning your trip to go to the most southern part of the USA and yet you still can’t find affordable hotels?  Florida Keys does have them, you just have to do a bit of research.

It really depends on where you want to be and what time of year you will be visiting. If it is Key West hotels you are looking for, the cheaper ones are found away from Duval Street and yet within a cab ride of the center of town. N. Roosevelt Blvd. runs around the city and you can find some pretty decent prices there. If you don’t have a vehicle, some hotels have buses that will take you into Duval Street. Of course you can always take a cab or even rent bikes. Key West is only a few miles around so it won’t be difficult to find your way.

It has over 1,100 feet of private beach where you can hide, especially if you are a business tycoon, artist or dignitary. Since the early 20′s, anyone who is someone has stayed here.
