"key Largo dining"

There are places in the Florida Keys to go that just are so popular they are known Worldwide. Mrs. Macs Kitchen is one of them. Nothing fancy, not upscale, but a local favorite that has won the Best in People’s Choice awards for 19 years. This is the longest running restaurant in the Florida Keys and for 31 years Mrs. Macs Kitchen has been keeping locals as well as tourists very satisfied that they keep coming back for more.

For a bit of history, the place was built in 1947, and ran as Graingers Gulfside Inn. Then in 1976 a man named Jeff MacFarland bought it, used his Mama’s recipes and it became known as Mrs. Macs Kitchen. Later in the 80′s, two sisters bought it and it is one of the most highly recognized eateries in Key Largo.

If you get a chance to go to the Keys first print out a coupon for a Key Lime Freeze! It’s complimentary with a $10 purchase. Speaking of purchase, the food is delicious! World famous homeade Chili made fresh every single day! What about the sales! Each night there’s something different along with some all U can eat dinners, like Monday night meatloaf or All U can eat Catfish Tuesdays. There’s much, much more but you have to stop by to look at the large array of food. The menu is incredible!

I thought you would like to hear what some customers think!

From Patrick A of St. Paul, MN says: Hog fish was fantastic, key lime really is the best as the sign advertises, staff was great and the stone crab claws were to die for.

Shelley B of Kansas seemed to love it too….Stopped here on a girl’s trip on our way down to KW. It was by far our favorite place on our whole trip. Delicious food, great service…loved it.

Between the three of us, we ordered:
lobster fritters
grilled FOTD, steamed veggies
fried FOTD sandwich
key lime pie

The lobster fritters were our least favorite. Not very lobster-y.
But everything else was great. The grilled hogfish was our favorite I think. Very fresh, very clean tasting. Perfect really.
The pie was a close second.

Needless to say you should make it a point to stop at the world renowned eatery when you are in Key Largo.
