Every year Key West has a flurry of activity going on. I found some interesting things to do all year round and wanted to share them with you. I am just going to give you the month and some information on the event as the dates may change from year to year. So if you are thinking of visiting Key West and there is something here that floats your boat, you may want to plan your travels around one of these events. There is so much to do in Key West it’s going to take several posts to fill you in all the Key West activities.

January|Events

Towards the end of January is the 26th Key West Craft Show with over 100 craft artists in Old Town displaying wood, clay, fabric and metal and much more. So if you love arts and crafts, check them out in January. You can call 305-294-1243 for the exact date.

Key West Master Chef Classic has talented chefs competing for top honors in their yearly competition. Call 305-294-9526 for info.

Love to sail? Then check out the Annual Schooner Wharf Bar Wreckers Cup Race where sailing vessels race to the reef. This goes back to the early days when a vessel ran aground, the sailboats would scamper to get to the booty before anyone else. If you want to join the race call 305-292-3302 for all the details.

This one is a must! Key West Food & Wine Festival! Very popular event celebrating the culinary excellence with tastings, seminars and more. Call 800-474-4319 to see when next years event will take place.

I don’t have a phone number for more information on this, but if you go to the Key West Chamber of Commerce, they should be able to tell you when the Annual Florida Keys Seafood Festival begins. The local commercial fisherman’s association came up with this even that serves fresh seafood picnic style. The place is Bayview Park and it’s for family with music, vendors and it’s FREE to get in!
